PLC PROGRAMMING

Hardware plays a critical role in any automated system. Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) are still the preferred workhorse of the automation industry. These devices collect real time data from onsite sensors and equipment and are custom programmed to create your automated process.

There are multiple PLC manufacturers, and they all have pros/cons. In less critical or cost sensitive applications I prefer to use PLC equipment from Automation Direct that has a great product lineup, free software licensing, and great tech support.

The preferred manufacturer for more critical systems would be Allen Bradley that produces robust hardware and has been a system leader for many years. I typically recommend this equipment for systems with critical components or harsh environments, but I am fully transparent about associated hardware & software licensing costs.

There are many other brands such as Siemens, Schneider, GE, etc. so if your site uses something different than my preferred brands do not hesitate to reach out.
